Seven SOUND NOMADS video works will be on display at the CAC April 12-17 2009.
An invitation for live performance action in Las Vegas during the event had to be refused for reasons beyond the artist's control. The works are exhibited in conjunction with artist Tony Schwenson.
The participating artists are working in performance, situational aesthetics, creative movement, experimental film, video and other new genres. The purpose of CAC's Performance & Video Art event and exhibition is to offer the Las Vegas community an overview of current contemporary art practices. The event will take place at the CAC gallery as well as other venues located in historic downtown Las Vegas. The presented works should challenge the viewers, are new, progressive and fall outside the traditional boundaries of established genres of the visual, theater, dance, music, experimental film, etc. High level of innovation in context and content by artists who reflect the rich diversity of ethnical, cultural, sexual, and personal backgrounds.
