About the Japan Media Arts Festival
The 2009 [13th] Japan Media Arts Festival is held from Wednesday February 3, 2010 to Sunday, February 14, 2010 at The National Art Center, Tokyo.
The Japan Media Arts Festival has been an annual event since 1997. Its aim is to promote the creation and development of media arts. The Festival highlights creative works of art, entertainment, animation, and manga. At the same time, it also presents a broad range of creative activities.
Art works selected and awarded from among 2,592 entries from 54 nations and regions are exhibited. During the 11-day exhibition, symposia, presentations, workshops, the Leading Edge Technology Showcase are also be held.
Media arts - changing together with advances in technology and media. As pioneering works in the times when they were created, the works exhibited at this festival will help you feel connected with the future.
Art Division Jury Recommended Work
Out of award-winning works of the 2009 Japan Media Arts Festival, the jury committee has recommended SOUND NOMADS as excellent work in the art division 'Visual Image'.

The National Art Center, Tokyo is the national government's fifth art institution to be organized under the umbrella of the Independent Administrative Institution National Museum of Art, after The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, The National Museum of Western Art, and The National Museum of Art, Osaka.
The National Art Center, Tokyo is a unique and innovative art exhibition facility: Instead of maintaining a permanent collection, it makes the most of a total of 14,000 square meters of exhibition space, one of the largest in Japan, and focuses on serving as a venue for various art exhibitions. The Center also promotes outreach activities through its educational programs, and the Art Library serves to collect and disseminate information related to art.
